About the Counsellor
I have many years experience of working in the care environment, including working with and supporting families who are or have been looking after an ill relative as well as working with adults suffering with psychological disorders.
As well as having my private practice I have also been an assessor and a senior volunteer counsellor for the Carers Support Service, offering counselling to people who are caring for a loved one. I have been with the Carers Support Service for 5yrs and have counselled those under considerable stress, anger and guilt as well as facing the death of their loved one. Being a carer can change the relationship and the role within the family, this in itself can be distressing.
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am currently working towards my accreditation with the BACP. To visit the BACP's website CLICK HERE. I hold private practice indemnity insurance and have an up to date enhanced CRB check. I have been a qualified counsellor for over 10yrs.
